  • AASPA Elections are now open! If you would like to join the Board of Directors, please check out our open positions here. We are accepting nominations until May 1, 2022. For those interested, we ask that you submit a platform statement in which you describe what you would like to accomplish in the position you are applying for and why people should elect you, as well as a photo of yourself.

  • Please join us for our PA Student Networking event on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 7pm CST. You must be an active PA student in order to attend. Register Here

  • Please join us for our annual Continuing Medical Education Conference in Houston, Texas October 13-16, 2022. Registration is LIVE! If you are interested in being a speaker, participating in the poster presentation, or if you would like to organize a hands-on skills training workshop at the conference, please check out the conference information on our website for application information. Submissions are due by May 1, 2022.

  • Our Virtual Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS) Course is scheduled for Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15th, 2022 from 8am-5pm. This course usually fills up quickly, so please be sure to register if you want to participate.

  • The AASPA will be at AAPA in Indianapolis, Indiana May 21-25. Please come visit our booth in the exhibit hall! We will also be hosting a networking event at the AAPA conference on Sunday, May 22, 2022 from 11am-12pm at the JW Marriott Indianapolis, second floor room 205. Please join us if you can!

  • The AASPA has nominated Sarah Campos, PA-C to be the ARC-PA Clinical Postgraduate subcommission representative. Sarah completed the surgical residency program at the University of Florida. Sarah currently works at Boston Children's Hospital in cardiac surgery. We are grateful to Ms. Campos for her continued enthusiasm and advocacy on behalf of surgical PAs across the country. 

  • We will be sending out our annual member survey soon. Please be sure to take a few minutes and complete the survey. It provides us with valuable information about the profession. We hope to share the results with you in the coming months. 

  • Check out our latest blog post by our PA student director, Adam Buck who is currently a first year PA school at the University of Florida. 

  • If you are a PA student member, please consider applying for our student scholarship. The deadline to apply is July 1, 2022.

  • Our very own board member, Veronica Victoria, went to the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN)’s Global Surgical Conference and Expo in New Orleans, Louisiana last month. She represented the AASPA as an honored guest! Here she is at the conference with some colleagues.

  • Our March Member of the Month was Tiffany Worthington, DMSc, PA-C. 

    Tiffany is an accomplished cardiovascular surgery PA in California. Please read more about why we chose her to be our featured member here. If you would like to nominate someone to be the next Member of the Month, please fill out the form on our website.

  • We hope you enjoyed our March webinar on Nutrition in Surgical Patients. If you were unable to attend the webinar live, please be sure to watch it at a later date. 

  • Our inaugural edition of Sutureline, the official journal of the AASPA, will be published soon - please be sure to read it and we'd love any feedback. If you would like to submit a clinical article for publication, we are always accepting submissions.
