2022 Call for Hands-On Skills Training Instructors

Do you have a skill set that you would like to share with your colleagues? Now is your opportunity to create a session and assemble experts for a hands-on skills training session at the AASPA 2022 Annual CME Meeting. Visibility at AASPA provides an opportunity to build your professional network, gain recognition as a leader, and engage with your peers.

Please fill out the following form to submit a proposal at the AASPA Annual CME Meeting. The meeting will be held from October 13-16, 2022 in Houston, Texas.

Critical Dates

  1. Proposals due: May 1st, 2022
  2. Accepted authors will be notified by: May 31st, 2022
  3. Hands-on Skills Training Courses will be held on the following afternoons: Thursday, October 13th, Friday, October 14th, and Saturday, October 15th

Submissions Should Include:

  1. Hands-on Skills Training Instructors (names & contact details) and identify one person as a lead instructor. The submitter (author) will be the primary contact person. Submissions require at least two instructors.

  2. Short biography for each instructor, describing relevant experience and qualifications.
  3. Description of the Hands-on Skills Training Course: objectives, goals, relevance, and expected outcomes.
  4. Proposed Hands-on Skills Training Course format, including room layout/design and anticipated time frame needed to teach the course.
  5. Anticipated supplies needed to teach the course.
  6. Preferred date for the course (October 13th, 14th, or 15th, 2022)

Review Criteria

The 2022 AASPA CME Committee uses the following criteria in reviewing submissions.

  1. Experience and expertise: Are the proposed instructors experts in the proposed area of training?
  2. Broad appeal to AASPA CME registrants: Does the topic have appeal and will be of interest to surgical PAs?
  3. Educational and informative: Is the submission educational and/or informative in its intent?
  4. Structure and Flow: Does the submission create the best-suitable format for its topic and instructors and create a clear picture of how this training session will flow?

  5. Engagement: Does the submission offer opportunities for hands-on learning?
  6. Ready to go: Is the submission complete (all instructors and presentation topics identified, description and title)?

Selection Process

Submissions will be reviewed by the AASPA CME committee. Those submissions that meet the review criteria and are selected will be notified by May 31st, 2022.

Instructors will receive free CME Conference registration. Travel and hotel accommodations are not included.
