PAs in Ophthalmology function as specialty physician assistants under the direction of a licensed Ophthalmologist to manage all aspects of pre-, intra- and post-operative care.

Job Qualifications	Highly technical and demanding skills are mastered through years of physician assistant practice, master degree and post-graduate critical care residency.
Duties & Responsibilities	Collects and assesses medical histories Performs physical examinations and diagnostic tests Surgically assists surgeons in the OR in minor procedures and outpatient surgical procedures Enables continuity of care by managing patient care in pre-, intra- and post-operative settings
